ASM is the grand daddy of them all (besides machine code), It gives you FULL CONTROL of EVERYTHING the psp has to offer. As for how to make it (or more properly how to use it) harleyg has already said how http://www.psp-programming.com/dev-forum/viewtopic.php?t=935

ASM was the start of the whole programing for the PSP if im not mistaken...  Nem coded Hello World in ASM didnt he?  But before that, he just did some reverse engineering of an eboot, so I suppose the start was disassembling binary (?)

Seems like this forum wasn't prepared for something that low-level as ASM, seeing how they all ask what that actually is Smile
Just like no-one ever responded to my vfpu timing post, most likely because no one understood what it was about Very Happy
I hope with this board, that somewhat changes in the future Razz

Even after you learn asm what can you do with it? As far as I know there is no point of developing a game in it, because its easier and faster in C. I know you can do what ever you want with it since its the PSP's starter.
Here is a tip to all who want to learn it: don't learn asm unless you know why you need it or what are you gonna use it for.

the only real reason why people use it is for making code more efficent when designing the core of a game engine, and if your asm isn't good, you could actually be slowing down your code. but other than that the only other reason is so you can brag about you 1337 programming skillz :p
