I wrote this guide because there are probably many people who dont want to spend ages downloading cygwin. Especially those on dial-up.
This will still require you to download about 30mb though.

1.

First download This.

Install it. leave the directory as default. choose to install the compact installation and make sure that the only box left coloured is mingw32-make.
click next and your done.

2.

Now install this this
again, leave the directory as default.
now thats done.

open up notepad and copy&paste this:
Quote
set path=%path%;c:\pspdev\bin
set PSPSDK=C:\PSPDev\psp\sdk
cmd

and save it as pspdev.bat in your pspdev folder, which should be at the root of your hard-drive.

3.

Now thats done, its time to set up your IDE. I highly recommend Bloodshed's Dev-C++ which can be found here.
Another good one is C-Free, which can be found here

4.

Now your completely done.
To compile the files place them in a folder in \pspdev along with a makefile and open up pspdev.bat.
type
Quote
cd nameoffolder

Hit enter, then type
Quote
make

Hope you've found this tutorial helpful!

PS. DO NOT attempt to install minGW with cygwin already installed.

actually i have one Q about this ... i did it on a pc at my parents place ...
and i didn't use mingw and it worked good ... just had some trouble settin up my paths
cuz there was a ;; in it

had todo

set path=c:\pspdev\bin;%path%
set PSPSDK=C:\PSPDev\psp\sdk
cmd

and bronxbomber92 ... yes this is way fatser 5 min install (including download) for people on dialup

compare it with linux ... u only set up toolchain and u'r done (witch can take some while)

well this is a precompiler (old?) toolchain ...
maybe an update of this is needed ... but i say for the fans ... as i self use cygwin
this uses windows command shell if u don't use mingw

What?  You can 'update' the toolchain.  Very hard to do though Sad  I wish whazilla would release that Library Installer v2 with the option to select a folder with a library in it to install. Wink
