In an attempt to stop the daily spamming that has been happening recently, I will be post blocking: - The IP range 222.35.188-191.*
- The hostname *.163DATA.COM.CN
- The IP range 221.218.152-155.*
- The IP range 121.15.134.*
- The IP range 123.113.37-46.*
- The IP range 114.246.153-155.*
- The IP range 114.249.124.*
- The IP range 117.92.102.*
That means anybody whose IP is within that range will be unable to post, I'm hoping that it should only affect the spammer, but if anybody has any problems then email me and I will resolve the problem. This would be so much easier if I could just block gmail accounts, but I'm assuming there are a large amount of legitimate members that currently use gmail. |

That wasn't due to IP blocking, the site was actually down, besides the IP block doesn't stop you from doing anything but posting topics and replies.
As you may have noticed the spamming continues so I'm going to widen the block to:
222.35.188-190.*
And continue widening till the chinese spammers run out of IP addresses they can use, it seems we have another spammer too now from another area of beijing, so I'm also going to block the range:
221.218.155.*
And widen that till they can't spam anymore also, far too many spammers in china.
On the upside, some attempts from them were blocked by the triggers.

dynamic.163data.com.cn is a masking service for dynamic addresses. Hopefully that will cut out a lot of them.

Well I blocked "*.163DATA.COM.CN" and that ban has only been triggered once, both of the spammers today were using an IP address assigned to them though so I don't know quite how they managed to slip though.

Well todays the first day with no spam, so it seems to be working  They tried 5 times today and triggered the no-post ban every time. |

I upped the range of the second IP block since that chinese spammer posted in the flash forums, the second one is now 221.218.152-155.*

I haven't, only ones that have been used by spammers. None of my blocks have stopped any previous legitimate users and I've never had emails from new users (the block only stops posting).
I block the smallest possible ranges required to stop known spammers from repeating.
