just an additional tip for this:

* right click the title bar of the cygwin/dosbox window --> "properties" --> Options Tab

now in the "Edit Options" field, when activating "QuickEdit mode" and "Insert mode", then the usual copy and paste functions work always and directly, you can immediately double-click somewhere in the dosbox window to start defining the copy-area. it's much more convient that way. also, pasting is then possible by just putting the mousepointer into the dosbox and clicking rightmousebutton once.

you can run sshd in cygwin cmd, and connect use SecureCRT, it's easy to use.
step:
1. install openSSH in cygwin
2. use ssh-host-config to config the openSSH server
3. run '/usr/sbin/sshd -D'
4. use SecureCRT to connect 127.0.0.1
